Houston Texans Haiku: Week 11 vs. Tennessee Titans

I missed the win. Natch.
Christmas shopping at game time.
Think I had more fun.

Now that the season's
gone astray, Texans play good.
Wait 'til next year, 'gain...

Hockey game broke out
During the football game. No
Place for that at all.

Tennessee Titans - 0
Houston Texans - 20

I went to a sports bar to watch the Browns game and they had the Titans/Texans game on as well. They were playing the audio feed from the Titans/Texans game. When the fight broke out in that game my head quickly jerked over from the Browns to the Texans game. It was quite the spectacle.

Carolina had a similar (although not as egregious) bad play against Cleveland. One of their players, can't remember which, tackled Cleveland's punter after he'd kicked the ball. The Browns ended up regaining posession of the ball as a result of the penalty.

You may have cornered the sports haiku corner.

Perplexio - It was rather shocking to see the fight, although I only saw it on replay. I know football's a violent game, but I'd rather keep that ugliness out of the game. I'd have preferred a suspension for both players, even though Andre didn't start it.

David - Well, at least I have a corner... ;-)

Scott: Growing up on the Canadian border, I'm much more a hockey fan than football fan. So initially the fight didn't really register as I'm used to seeing that kind of thing in hockey. The thing I like about hockey though, is as violent as it gets on the ice... most of the players leave it "on the ice." You don't hear about hockey players getting arrested for illegally carrying firearms. There aren't the off-ice discipliary issues that seem to be somewhat more prevalent with pro basketball and football players.

Oh and I think Houston deserves an NHL team... although I don't believe they've really been trying to get one since the late 90s. I know that both the Phoenix Coyotes and Atlanta Thrashers are struggling with their attendances. I know Winnipeg wants to get their team back (the Coyotes used to be the Winnipeg Jets) but I wouldn't mind seeing the Thrashers move to Houston. I think Houston would be more apt to sell out games than Atlanta.
