I'm a newcomer to Doc Savage. I've only read the first story, "The Man of Bronze," (my review) and I'm reading the second story, "The Land of Terror," right now. Me and Bats go back a long way.Still, this pairing has got me drooling. And check out the writer for this one-shot: Brian Azzarello. Yeah, it just got better.

I've never been a big Doc Savage fan although I probably would have liked him a lot more if I'd read him when I was young. Like you, I didn't discover him until I wa an adult. I've read quite a few of his adventures though. They are generally pretty easy reads, but Dent was not a great writer. His strength was definitly in imagination.
