
I'm a newcomer to Doc Savage. I've only read the first story, "The Man of Bronze," (
my review) and I'm reading the second story, "The Land of Terror," right now. Me and Bats go back a long way.
Still, this pairing has got me drooling. And check out the writer for this one-shot: Brian Azzarello. Yeah, it just got better.

I've never been a big Doc Savage fan although I probably would have liked him a lot more if I'd read him when I was young. Like you, I didn't discover him until I wa an adult. I've read quite a few of his adventures though. They are generally pretty easy reads, but Dent was not a great writer. His strength was definitly in imagination.
